Who we are

Who KinSide is for

KinSide is intended for parents and adult caregivers. It is not intended for child accounts. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to KinSide, contact us at the email above.

Information we handle

Account data. Your email address, name and authentication identifiers are handled by our sign-in provider, Clerk.

Stored on your device. Using the app's local storage (AsyncStorage), KinSide keeps your local profile, child details, routines, meals, groceries, trips, caregivers and assistant chat. This local private data is not automatically shared with a co-parent.

Stored on our servers. Shared family membership, email-bound invites, shared arrangements, comments and activity; and reminder information: generic reminder category and timing, task identifiers, completion dates, timezone, preferences and history.

AI assistant. When you submit a message, the app sends your submitted last messages, plus optional child approximate age, interests and dietary notes, to the KinSide backend and to OpenAI through the Replit AI integration to produce a response. Not all child-related information stays on your device. Please avoid entering sensitive information, such as health details, government identifiers, financial data or exact addresses, into the assistant or notes.

Technical data. Operational logs of requests and errors, including network information, are kept for running and securing the service. Browser storage and authentication cookies are used to keep you signed in. Our website at mykinside.com loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes requests to Google.

Why we use information

To provide the service, authenticate you, support planning, enable sharing you choose, generate AI responses, keep the service secure, and respond to support requests.

Service providers

• Clerk, for authentication: Clerk privacy policy
• Replit, for hosting, database and the AI integration: Replit privacy policy
• OpenAI, for AI processing: OpenAI privacy policy

These providers may process data in countries other than yours, including where they operate. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.

Retention and deletion

• Local data stays on your device until you delete it, for example with Settings, Delete device data, or by clearing app data. Signing out does not necessarily erase local data. Uninstalling the app is not an account deletion request. Device backups you make may retain copies.
• Server data (account, family sharing, reminders and activity) is kept while it is needed to provide the service or until deleted on request. Delete device data clears local data and account reminders but does not delete your account or all shared data. Shared data may remain visible to the other parent.
• Logs are kept for operational and security purposes.

To request account or data deletion, email support@mykinside.com. We will verify that you own the account first. We do not currently offer self-service account deletion.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your information. Contact us at the email above. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

AI and advice

AI responses are not medical or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional for those matters.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
